Learn 6 Strategies to Re-Engage Students Who Seem Disconnected!
Having been raised in a neighborhood that was experiencing greater instances of crime and gang activity, during my youth, I was determined to become a world changer and a social agent.
I practiced the art of resilience, pushing through challenging circumstances to graduate with a 5.155 from high school, working my way up to being an Assistant Director of a TRIO program while still in undergrad, serving as a Student Orientation Staff member there, speaking at my college graduation, and going on to graduate from an Ivy League university, where I served as Director of Politics and Cultural Pluralism at their W.E.B. Du Bois College House.
As a result of my work with at-risk youth around the country, awarding $39,450 in scholarships to 42 high school youth through a nonprofit I founded, I was appointed as an inaugural College Board Fellow and also was a two-time finalist for the Washington, D.C. Capital Cause Changemaker of the Year award.

Daphne facilitated such a great session. Our students were engaged and had a really great time exploring the power of motivation, action, and perseverance.
You have kicked off our week of speakers amazingly and I know the scholars are excited to learn much more. Watching you brought joy to my heart as I watched the students participate with smiles and ask thoughtful questions.
You touched all our hearts from scholars to teachers. We could not have asked for a better session!
